Activities to do with children in Menorca
The first thing we have to recommend is the rental of a car to explore the island of Menorca with the little ones. In this way, you will avoid having to use public transport and waste time with children.
1. Go to the beach, a great activity with children
Despite being the most common activity, going to the beach when you are on vacation in Menorca is common. We advise you to look for accessible beaches with services, such as in Fornells or Binibeca, to guarantee your comfort.
If the children are older then dare to take them to the virgin beaches of difficult excess or to bathe in the rocks, as in Cales Coves.
2. Go visit the lighthouses
Children love to visit the lighthouses. Take advantage of the fact that you have the rental car to visit the lighthouses scattered around Menorca island.
They are usually located around beautiful landscapes and are worth a family outing. You can go to Punta Nati, Cavalleria, Favaritx or Artutx. All options are good.
3. Boat trip
The best way to get to know the coast of Menorca is from the sea. And even more so if you go with children since access by land to some coves is quite complicated. We propose a route along the north coast of Menorca by boat to discover the best coves in this part of the island.
4. Visit the cheese factory in Menorca
Menorca is known for the sobrasada and especially for the cheese. We encourage you one day to go on an excursion with the little ones to discover how cheese is produced. There are many factories around the island.
They will love the experience of spending the day seeing how the cheeses are made. They can even participate in some workshops! It will be an unforgettable experience.
5. Zoo in Menorca
If you like animals, a visit to the Menorca Zoo, where you will meet some indigenous breeds of the island and some other exotic species from other parts of the world, is mandatory. They will love being around animals and meeting species that they have probably never seen elsewhere. It is a wonderful experience!
Likewise, in Menorca, there are also water parks, for those of you who want to change a day at the beach for one between water slides.
Don’t forget to always carry sun protection for children, whatever the time of year as the sun is just as damaging whether it is hot or cold.
